A safe place to call home

Our Northamptonshire campus re-opened in September 2024, providing supported housing specifically for care experienced young people aged 18–21. The project works in collaboration with Northampton Children’s Trust to offer a safe and welcoming home for up to 13 residents at a time, alongside tailored support to help them into education, training, employment and independent living.

The service focuses on helping young people:

  • Feel at home in a warm, welcoming environment
  • Feel safe and secure
  • Build positive relationships with staff and peers
  • Find meaning and purpose, whether through learning, volunteering or work

Support is delivered over two years and three stages. Young people spend up to a year living on campus, developing essential life skills with in‑house and community partners. They are then supported to move into the wider community, with continued check‑ins for a further year.

Everyone involved plays a part in helping residents grow. By the time they ‘graduate’, young people are often transformed from when they first arrived.

At its core, we put young people first, guided by a mission to help them belong, contribute and thrive.

Housing Applications

We do not accept direct applications for our Northamptonshire campus. All young people that we support are referred through our partnership with Northampton Children’s Trust only.

“I have a lot to say in every respect for YMCA. Their care, support and community feel made me feel like I was in the right place. I wished my time would never end, I can only keep saying thank you and this is not enough for the support YMCA has given me” – Former Resident
