MK Festival of Running 2026: YMCA Milton Keynes Celebrated as Charity Partner

The MK Festival of Running lit up Central Milton Keynes on 15 March 2026, bringing an incredible wave of energy, colour, and community spirit to the Xscape Centre. Thousands of runners gathered for one of the region’s most uplifting annual events, taking on their choice of the 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, or 20‑mile challenge.

YMCA Milton Keynes was proud to serve as a chosen charity partner for this year’s festival. We were deeply grateful to the organisers for championing our mission to support young people across the city who are at risk of homelessness—and for helping shine a spotlight on the vital work taking place every day.

As part of this exciting partnership, we brought together an inspiring team of runners made up of staff, residents, and members of the wider community. Their dedication and enthusiasm helped raise essential funds for our young residents. To boost our fundraising efforts even further, we set up our own YMCA tent at the event—offering post‑run massages and handing out much‑needed energy chews in exchange for small donations, all while cheering on runners as they crossed the finish line.

The MK Festival of Running this year was a brilliant example of what can be achieved when people come together. Every runner, supporter and volunteer played a part in creating an energetic and joyful day, even despite the weather. Thanks to everyone who supported us at the YMCA on the day, together we raised £2,600 to help young people belong, contribute and thrive in our city.
