At YMCA South Midlands, we believe every young person brings valuable strengths, talents, and ambitions. With the right support, these can be developed into meaningful careers and long-term success. Elliot, our Employment Coach, plays a central role in helping residents recognise their abilities and take confident steps towards their future.

Working with an asset-based mindset, Elliot focuses on what residents can do, supporting them to explore career paths, training and apprenticeships that match their goals. He helps build confidence through practical employability sessions, supports the creation of strong CVs, and offers tailored guidance with job applications. From interview preparation to help with transport, Elliot ensures residents can access opportunities, and he continues to offer advice even after they start work.

His approach creates a supportive space where residents feel understood, motivated, and able to grow both professionally and personally. By nurturing confidence, purpose and a sense of direction, Elliot helps residents move forward with clarity and belief in their own potential.
