Our Northamptonshire campus offers more than just a physical home. Our holistic approach ensures that residents can access a wide range of support tailored to their personal needs. Staff guide young people through our pathway of support so that, by the time they move on, they have the tools, skills and confidence they need to thrive.
Central to our approach is a commitment to asset-based, person-centred support, focusing on the strengths, skills and aspirations each young person brings, rather than the challenges that led them to us.
To support emotional wellbeing, our staff use our Emotional Needs Framework to guide conversations, build trust and set achievable goals. Alongside this, our Mental Wealth Programme provides structured wellbeing sessions, workshops and practical tools to help residents understand and manage their mental health, build resilience and develop positive coping strategies.
We also provide a strong focus on developing practical life skills for independence. We offer in‑house support around essential topics such as cookery, budgeting and managing bills, navigating appointments, and understanding personal rights and responsibilities. This ensures residents feel prepared for living independently.
Residents benefit from a variety of external partnerships too. Through organisations such as NatWest, young people receive guidance on financial literacy, covering budgeting, saving, banking, and making informed financial decisions. In addition, mentoring support is available through partners including Northampton Children’s Trust and Exodus, giving residents access to positive role models who can offer encouragement, advice and direction.
When residents leave our campus, we hope they feel happy, healthy and optimistic about the future ready to take their next steps with confidence.
‘The YM has done a lot of things for me, it has helped me work on myself, improve myself. I am grateful for what I have now, I’ve never had my own room, my own space, I feel very lucky. I had bad days at the start but it’s good times in here now.’
